Even Politics Can Be Funny - See Video

SETUP: In December of 1996, I had the opportunity to discuss a matter
of great importance to Canadian voters with then Prime Minister Jean Chretien.
The subject was the GST, or Goods and Services Tax, a 7% federal sales tax
which had been introduced by Brian Mulroney's Conservative party in 1991.
Despite Chretien's and the Liberals' 1993 promise to abolish the GST, it remains in effect today.
This tax has since served to widen the Poverty Gap in Canada.
Simply put, poorer people, youth and families spend more of their income on goods and services,
so they pay more tax.
The wealthy save or invest more of their income, so they avoid the tax.
